I was born in Russia and grew up in remote North-Eastern part of the country named Chukotka. That place is famous for its 7-8 months long snowy winters and it blooms with unbelievable vibrant life during short polar summers.
I developed interest in nature and landscape photography in early teenage years, inspired by my father and fascinated with beautiful northern landscapes.
Later, I traveled all over Russia and Central Asia, hiking in backcountry and climbing mountains, rafting wild Siberian rivers and biking through small Russian towns.
Professional and family life brought me to Europe for several years, and then to the American Midwest. Now, I live in Northern California with my husband and three children. Vera Smirnova |
